About Me
Louie Montoya is a lead experience designer at the Stanford d.school. He is a designer, artist, futurist, and educator. Currently, he co-leads Educational Future(s) work at the d.school and is the lead designer and lecturer of Design 1, an introductory design course in the undergraduate program. His training as a cultural anthropologist, his work in social justice spaces, and his own creative practice offer a unique skill set to support educators, students, and leaders to leverage their creativity to build a more equitable, community-centered world. He has worked in school districts, schools, and organizations across the globe. Louie has given keynote talks and run experiential workshops at notable places such as, the Smithsonian, SXSW, ISTE, and Deeper Learning conference. His most recent work focuses on community building, collective care, and growing communities centered around justice and equity.
