Colton Brasel

Director, Student Services

Colton leads several academic systems which primarily guide BS and MS design students towards graduation.

Colton is the inaugural leader of d.school student services. Since 2022, he has implemented new strategies for how design students achieve meaningful degree progress. His acumen of complex university processes empowers colleagues, faculty, and students to make the most of available opportunities. A few areas that his work covers include advising operations, major declarations, degree conferrals, course scheduling, graduate admissions, and academic planning.

His guidance leads to students making informed decisions, and with confidence. He fundamentally believes in centering student input in the very systems meant to serve them.

Prior to joining the School of Engineering, Colton’s career at Stanford University began in 2016 within Student Affairs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Creighton University, and a master’s degree in higher education leadership from San José State University.
