Overview
In this class, students will learn tools for transformation to improve mental health in order to better face the tests and trials of life. We will turn the methods and mindsets of design thinking -- which are often directed outwardly, to create products, experiences, and services for others -- inward to shape our own lives and being.
This course undertakes the greatest design challenge of all: our lives, and our personal well-being. Students will start by assessing where they are now in important aspects of their lives. Then they will compare this to where they would like to be. They will work with a partner to close the gap. Then they will look at negatives in their lives and develop tools to transcend the negatives. The course aims to develop capacity for self-discovery and self-realization
