2026 Book Talk: Creative Essentials with Carissa Potter

You’re invited to our community book club, where we're sitting down with designers to chat about Creative Essentials.

Join us on September 8 for our 2026 Book Club: Creative Essentials session with Carissa Potter.

In this virtual conversation, Carissa will dive into the Creative Essential: Build confidence in your creativity. She’ll share personal reflections on embracing vulnerability, trusting your creative instincts, and finding the courage to make meaningful work even in the face of uncertainty and doubt.

Carissa is an artist, illustrator, writer, and founder of People I've Loved, an Oakland-based studio that creates artwork and objects designed to help people connect with themselves and others. She is the author of It's OK to Feel Things Deeply, a thoughtful and compassionate exploration of emotions, creativity, and the human experience.

You’ll hear directly from Carissa, connect with fellow participants in small group discussions, and join a live Q&A. This session is designed for anyone developing a creative practice, navigating challenges, or looking to cultivate greater self-love and confidence in your ideas and abilities.

Join us for this open-hearted, connecting session!
