A love of basketball introduced Leticia to a coach who would be one of her greatest influences as an educator. Under his tutelage she learned that resilience and teamwork can do more than win championships. Today those same values shape her work at the d.school as co-Founder and co-Director of the University Innovation Fellows program, supporting students and faculty from hundreds of higher ed institutions around the world as co-designers of education and change agents. With a Ph.D. in developmental biology from Stanford, Leticia has strong analytical skills that she balances with creativity, and the ability to learn from failed experiments. She is passionate about teaching others how to build their creative confidence to become engines of innovation in teams, organizations, and their own lives.
Leticia enjoys designing experiences that unlock people’s natural ability to learn, and acting as a catalyst who creates connections between people and ideas. We like to think she’s the perfect point guard running offense to set others up for success. If granted a wish, Leticia would bring her home country of Uruguay just a tad closer to California. The ability to teleport would be nice too.
