Laurie amplifies the stories and efforts of the d.school community
Laurie oversees the strategy and implementation of the d.school’s communication and marketing efforts. She utilizes her 19 years of experience in content development, website management, writing and graphic design to showcase the d.school’s impact through strategic storytelling. You’ll find Laurie doing everything from sending d.school newsletters and designing editorial processes to using custom rubber stamps to experiment with DIY branding.
She has held communications roles at the d.school’s University Innovation Fellows program, Stanford’s National Center for Engineering Pathways to Innovation (Epicenter), and USC Dornsife College. She is a graduate of Susquehanna University’s creative writing program. Laurie wishes she could write like Joan Didion and cook like Julia Child, but she’s happy to just get her hands dirty and experience the world, even if the results aren’t perfect (like her county fair apple pie that has yet to impress the judges). In her spare time, Laurie plays around with printmaking, baking, and rock hunting with her family.
