tropical technologist expanding dominant technological imaginaries beyond the virtual and digital
Anastasha Rachel Gunawan (b. 1999) is an artist, educator, and technologist. Born and raised in Indonesia and Myanmar, she builds physical and embodied artifacts through a tropical lens—using wood, found objects, and vernacular materials to expand technological imaginaries beyond Western digital culture. Her work returns to the same questions: whose knowledge is archived, and how do we insist upon our agency to shape our sociotechnical futures?
