Overview

Exploring New Frontiers with Virtual Reality by applying emerging technologies to healthcare experiences

Virtual Reality (VR) is an emerging technology that is finally starting to feel like it will play a more significant role in many human experiences. While initial applications have been primarily in entertainment and gaming, we are interested in how VR might be used to improve healthcare experiences and outcomes. In this one day pop out experience, students will gain a rapid introduction to VR technology and insight into the experiences of different healthcare stakeholders that are likely to benefit from VR technologies. Then, students will collaborate to explore multiple use cases and the design opportunities for VR in these healthcare scenarios.

The class will be held at Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park where students will engage and experiment with Oculus devices. Apply for this pop out if you have an interest in the intersection between VR and healthcare… and want the opportunity to get off campus and get hands-on with new technology! (No prior experience with VR is necessary to participate.)
