We're looking for two amazing people for the following contract positions. If you're interested, email the listed materials to communications@dschool.stanford.edu.

Copywriter with project management experience

The Stanford d.school is building a new Team Directory hub online and looking for someone with stellar writing skills to craft individual bios of members of our community. It’s a unique opportunity to get to know and connect with current d.school staff and teachers (~100 people).

For this project based position, you’ll embody the role of a reporter and writer to collect information, edit, and write content for biography pages. We’re hoping your snappy writing voice includes a mix of humor and quirk that’ll make the bio’s truly d.school! You’ll be the driver of this project and work closely with the the Director of Community and the Communications Manager. Other essential parts to help you get the work done: research & manage data, able to reach out/follow up with people, and conduct interviews.

Must be comfortable with google forms, google sheets, and inputting content into Squarespace. Project estimated to be about 120-150 hours.

Please send writing samples and proposal along with your resume & cover letter and we’ll reach out if we think it’s a good fit.

Squarespace web developer

We have a custom Squarespace website that we love and want to keep it happy and healthy. Life happens, we get it, and sometimes things on a website break, and sometimes updates are needed. That’s where you would come in and help maintain our website backend and handle any problems that might arise.

We’ll get you all set up with a developers doc from our original designers and developers. You’ll be working with the Communications Manager of the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford. Ideally you are an expert in custom Squarespace development and you have excellent web developing skills. Web design is a nice to have, but not necessary.

We’re looking for an ongoing relationship that is based on an as-need basis, potential to average 25 hours per academic quarter.

Please send us your portfolio, past experiences, hourly rate or proposal and we’ll reach out if we think it’s a good fit.
