Zaza Kabayadondo
PhD candidate, Stanford School of Education
Zaza Kabayadondo is a PhD student in the School of Education. She took the d.school bootcamp course in 2009 during her first quarter at Stanford. The result? She reframed her research plans after realizing she’d developed a prescriptive rather than user-based approach to social change. She went on to take Designing Liberation Technology, a class focused on mobile technology solutions for health problems in Kenya. Zaza works with the Research on Education and Design team which examines how and when empathy mindshifts occur for new design thinkers. She just joined a cross-disciplinary project at the School of Medicine to improve medical education in Zimbabwe and is excited to explore what impact design thinking can have in such a resource-stretched but promising environment.
