Time travel is one of our greatest tools in dismantling oppressive structures to create anew.

Join us for our next d.school futures series with founders Aisha Bain and Meredith Hutchison of Resistance Communications to explore how creativity, art, and story help us move expansively across generations of past and future. We’ll examine what it means to ground our work in the intergenerational transmissions of the past to create expansive visions of the future. The webinar will run from 12-1PM on Thursday, April 15th.

The power of stories influences every fiber of a human being from identity, to belief systems, to visioning future possibilities. Those living among multiple lines of oppression have purposefully and systematically had their histories erased - denied meaningful connection to ancestors and everyday resisters and activists of the past - to the struggles, strategies, lessons and visions of past movements; and from the beauty, strength, and spirit of those who came before.

So too have futures been controlled. Hope has become privatized, and survival within these oppressive systems has superseded our space for cultural imagination, and stripped away what were once natural processes of creative visioning for our collective futures.
