In preparation for the election, the d.school was asked to author a note of advice to the next President of the United States (along with thought leaders Thomas Friedman, T. Boone Pickens, Geoffrey Canada and others) on how to foster innovation. As seen on Parade Magazine’s website, here are some ideas for creating a culture of innovation and prototyping in the next administration:
“To kick off the next term, the administration should declare 100 days of prototyping. Prototyping lets you take ideas into the real world to see if they work. Rapid prototyping means using materials that are simple and inexpensive, and quickly testing them in real settings, such as airports, hospitals, and factories, to see which work, which don’t, and how promising ideas might be improved…..”
